J9 Leading Solutions has once again been invited to facilitate sessions for The Leadership Academy conducted at Chapman University. The Academy is a unique and exciting way for high school students to learn, grow, and hone their leadership skills. Kim Hayashi is the visionary behind this program. She believes in engaging and empowering students to be leaders in their schools and communities.\n\nUsing a World Cafe format, Janine McDonald will lead the teens in a dialog to foster productive relationships, collaborative learning and collective insight around a real-life challenge. Students will discuss possible causes and solutions for declining involvement in on campus activities, events and clubs. \n\n\nThe academy is a four day camp from August 4th to 7th that includes all day activities. It is specifically directed to help high school students enhance their leadership skills so that they can use these skills at school, and in life in general so that they can make an impact on the world around them. \n\nStudents get a unique opportunity to learn from leadership coaches that present the material in fun and engaging ways. There are many activities on a daily basis that make the experience one that will inspire these future leaders to carry on what they have gleaned to their campuses, communities, families, etc. The students work with a network of fellow students which gives the opportunity to network and plan events as one unified body of leaders. Activities include a high ropes course, interactive games that get students out of the classroom and outside for team building, engaging speakers, a scavenger hunt, and even the planning and implementation of a community project. \n\nThe Leadership Advisory Board has over 100 years of collaborative experience in leadership building and their knowledge trickles down into the coaches who are mostly fresh-out-college-graduates who are young and passionate about what they’re doing.
